Charlie and Adam's Festival Wedding Overlooking The Sea

It always takes me until the depths of winter to get around to sharing what we have been up to over the past year. I am so busy with planning that blogging and social media fall far down the priority list but I think I quite like the way things naturally come about - there is something special about reliving these sun-soaked, joyful memories on the colder darker days of the year.

This joyous day back in July holds so many happy memories of endless laughter and fabulous people coming together to problem-solve and put on the show.

With their hearts set on tying the knot overlooking their favourite coastline in Wales, Adam & Charlie stumbled upon a new farm wedding venue in their ideal location, and quickly got in touch with me to seek support with bringing together the logistics of their dream festival-style wedding.

With fields overlooking Druidstone Haven Bay, their own Tipi, Stretch Tent, Barn, Accommodation, Private access to the beach, Sunflower fields, and an incredible family team who went above and beyond to support us in making the vision a reality, Nolton Stables is an exciting up-and-coming Welsh wedding venue.

The dream was to create a relaxed, outdoor, festival-themed celebration, nestled within Sunflower fields on the clifftop. Lawson and his amazing team kindly set about planting a mix of wildflower and Sunflower seeds, leaving a clearing to host the Tipi and ceremony within.

With months of dry weather in early spring, the flowers, sadly, didn't grow in time, and as we approached the wedding weekend, high winds threatened to scupper all our plans and force us to retreat to our backup plan in the barn.

But, in the face of adversity, spirits remained high and everyone got on board with doing everything they could to make the dream happen. Creative solutions were devised to stop the Tipi and flowers from taking off, and everyone was on standby to move the wedding last minute should the weather not be on our side. On the morning of the big day, the wind dropped, the sun shone, and the setting was perfect! Sometimes, it pays to just hold your ground and have faith!

A huge thank you to everyone who was part of this day, the united positivity from everyone to make it happen made it such a memorable wedding, and the total joy radiating from Charlie and Adam was infectious.

And a beautiful little poem from Charlie.... .

Once upon a time I dreamt…

Of twirling silk skirts,

Blonde perfect curls,

Of grass neath my feet,

The taste of salty sea,

Heart fluttering inside,

Cheeks aching with smiles,

Champagne flutes in hand,

Improv'd dance to the band,

Michael’s trumpet solo,

Like he promised years ago,

Canapés galore,

Who wants a starter anymore!?

Hand in hand, man and wife,

With the love of my life.

You made this dream come true

Ness, thank you.
