Sian and Sam's Alfresco Welsh Wedding

Ness

When Sian and Sam contacted me last autumn they knew they wanted an outdoor wedding somewhere within the stunning Brecon Beacons national park, but having visited a few venues had not quite found what they were looking for. We immediately set about searching for something a bit more off the beaten track, and with a little digging came across Three Pools Farm.

Sian was instantly drawn to the wild setting of the farm, their sustainable ethos and their home grown and locally sourced produce. We booked in a site visit and a quick tour around the farm was enough to convince us all that this was the venue for them - with it's 3 tree lined pools, space for camping, original stone barns and incredible views, this venue ticked all their boxes and the planning journey began.

With sustainability in mind we used locally grown flowers to adorn the farm. Sian and Sam chose whites and greens with a touch of neutrals to compliment the bridesmaids dresses. Hired in Fairy lights, festoons, and bunting in natural tones coupled with cushions, throws, hay bale sofas and fire pits completed the rustic elegance they were hoping to achieve.

The tables under the chestnut trees were dreamy with an abundance of pillar candles and flowers, a bay runner (collected from Sian's auntie's garden), white linen napkins and herb sprigs tied with beautiful calligraphed name tags all hand written by Sian's cousin.

As well as being certain that they wanted everyone to enjoy the great outdoors, Sian and Sam also wanted to provide a comfortable weekend break for their guests, so we set about booking local hotels and guest houses and planning a packed weekend starting with a rehearsal meal on Friday in the Gliffaes Hotel and finishing off with a three course Sunday roast in the Kings Arms.

Behind the scenes our team set to work on Thursday decorating the barns and arranging the multitude of flowers.

On the day the sun shone for us and Sian and Sam were wed outside overlooking the picturesque valley. The wedding party enjoyed bubbles and nibbles in the beautiful surroundings, dinned on a local, seasonal feast under chestnut trees, and partied into the night in the old farm barns before finally resting under the stars in bell tents. Who says you can't have an alfresco wedding in Wales ;)

We really loved planning and putting together this wedding. Thank you so much Sian and Sam for trusting in us (and the Welsh weather) to make this weekend possible for you both. Thank you also to Three Pools, you have an amazing venue and are a great team to work with.

As always Angharad captured the day perfectly, I hope you all enjoy swooning over the photos!
